Along the rugged shoreline of Cannon Rocks, this humble beach cottage holds hidden potential. By stripping back the old structure, raising ceilings, and installing soaring 5-meter doors, we allowed the landscape to become the architecture.
The result is a breath of sea air in built form. The design speaks volumes – an outdoor shower spilling from the beach landing, a fully integrated alfresco kitchen with braai and bar, and cozy nooks perfect for salty days and starry nights.
A farm-style kitchen anchors the interior, while a thriving herb and veggie garden flourishes at the edges. Designed for a rock-surf fisherman and husband, this cottage blends practical charm with breezy elegance. A reminder that small footprints can make a big impression!
“While my work includes large lodges and ambitious projects, this simple and honest space grounds me and reminds me why I love design…”
